The Vitruv typeface collection reimagines the French Renaissance Antiquas, drawing inspiration from the masterpieces of the 15th and 16th centuries. This family merges the timeless elegance of Garamond and Plantijn with the robustness and versatility demanded by contemporary graphic design. Influenced by the principles of the ancient architect Vitruvius—Firmitas (Firmness), Utilitas (Utility), and Venustas (Beauty)—the collection is divided into three subfamilies.
Vitruv Poster is crafted for large headlines with an elegant touch. Its tight spacing provides a timeless and sophisticated look in larger font sizes. Vitruv Headline caters to those seeking a universal stroke weight, striking a balance between the robust forms of the Text family and the intricate details of the Poster family. The Text family, true to its name, is optimized for body text. Its rugged construction and open shapes ensure optimal readability in smaller font sizes.
With a broad spectrum of styles and subfamilies, Vitruv is versatile enough for various design applications. Whether it's editorial design or brand identities, Vitruv offers a timeless, trustworthy, and elegant voice suitable for all areas of modern graphic design.

René Bieder is a trained graphic designer and art director who has become a self-taught type designer. Before establishing his own type design studio in 2012, he worked as an art director and graphic designer in various advertising agencies, both small and large, serving national and international clients. It was during his time in these agencies that he developed a keen interest in type design, beginning to create typefaces as a side project. His second commercial release earned the title "MyFonts Most Popular Typeface of the Year 2012," and since then, his typefaces have consistently appeared on MyFonts best seller lists. Today, Bieder’s work is recognized globally, from the Nemo Science Museum in Amsterdam to the University of Florida.
In addition to his retail releases, Bieder has collaborated with numerous national and international clients, including industry leaders like Bahlsen, Brenntag, and Helleniq Energy, to develop custom brand fonts. He has partnered with design studios on behalf of their clients and worked directly with brands and in-house teams. With over twenty years of experience in the graphic industry and twelve years in type design, Bieder has comprehensive expertise in all stages of type design, production, and implementation. Known for his direct approach, simplicity, and efficiency, he often works independently but collaborates with a network of specialists when necessary.
