O0 Builds a Domestic World Around Fauna Robotics’ Sprout
Bringing a humanoid robot into the home requires more than introducing its technical capabilities. It means helping people imagine sharing their everyday spaces with it. For Fauna Robotics, O0 developed a storytelling design system that gave Sprout an approachable, character-led presence, translating advanced technology into the familiar language of domestic life.
Created around coexistence rather than replacement, Sprout represents Fauna Robotics’ vision for robotics that can live alongside people. As the company prepared to introduce its home-focused robot, the challenge was to communicate that ambition in a way that felt welcoming to households with families, children and pets. O0’s approach shifted the emphasis from Sprout as an industrial tool to Sprout as a domestic companion, building its identity around how it might fit into daily routines.

The visual language began with early renders created for investor presentations. From those initial assets, the studio expanded the project into a broader storytelling system spanning the website, motion and everyday scenarios. Rather than presenting the robot through specifications alone, the design invited audiences to discover its character and imagine its presence in their own living rooms.
Playful interactions, asymmetrical shapes and warm, calming tones established a friendly atmosphere. Intimate close-up imagery brought attention to Sprout’s appearance, giving the robot a more relatable presence. Together, these choices softened the distance between a complex technological product and the people being introduced to it.
The storytelling extended into sitcom-like use cases, placing Sprout within recognisable domestic situations. These scenes gave context to the product, moving the narrative beyond what a robot looks like towards how it could participate in life at home. The result was a character-led brand with room for humour and personality, built to connect with a consumer audience.

Throughout the project, design served as a way to communicate familiarity and a sense of reassurance. The website and its surrounding visual world presented Sprout as a companion people could imagine living alongside, while expressing Fauna Robotics’ ambition to make humanoid technology more approachable.
According to O0, Fauna Robotics was acquired by Amazon just two months after the new website launched. The project also earned Product Honors on Awwwards, marking recognition for the digital experience as the company entered its next chapter.

O0 is a digital product and branding studio whose teams span San Francisco, New York, and Europe. Founded six years ago within a Y Combinator-backed startup, the studio brings a culture of rapid iteration, experimentation and product thinking to its work. Today, it collaborates with startups including Hily, Viome and Fauna Robotics, alongside Google, Microsoft and HF0. Its work for Sprout reflects that combination of product understanding and expressive design: a visual world that helps an unfamiliar technology find a place in familiar surroundings.
