Tricity City Guide: Navigating Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot Through Design
Designed by Julia Kuc-Mikłaszewicz, Tricity is a city guide created for international art students arriving at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. The publication introduces them to the interconnected cities of Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot, offering a practical starting point for discovering the region beyond the university campus.
The guide is organised into three sections dedicated to architecture, culture, and cafés and coworking spaces. Alongside well-known cultural institutions, it highlights places that may be less accessible to newcomers, including organisations connected to the academy and spaces where students, graduates and faculty members are actively involved.

The editorial design draws inspiration from the linear geography of the Tricity area. Folded photographic sections are positioned throughout the publication to interact with the typography and create a continuous line across its pages. This visual device becomes the foundation of the layout, translating the physical relationship between the three cities into a coherent graphic system.

Based in Berlin, Kuc-Mikłaszewicz is a Polish graphic designer specialising in brand identities and visual systems shaped by strong conceptual thinking. Her early fascination with books, magazines and printing techniques developed into an enduring interest in typography and editorial design. Through playful experimentation, she creates distinctive visual languages that remain closely connected to the ideas behind each project.
