Today, on Bounty Hunters, Noir096, an alias for Luke Brickett, a graphic designer from Birmingham in England. Self Taught with a couple of years of experimenting in collage-based art led to explorations into poster and layout design. This combined with a vivid interest in typography led to his current brand of graphic design you see now.
‘Clarity’ – the T-shirt – was the product of Luke’s lockdown goal, to produce and release a t-shirt for sale through Everpress by the end of the lockdown period.
The T-shirt was inspired by and also a response to the confusion and inadequacy displayed by the government in the UK throughout the coronavirus crisis, satirising the vague instruction provided.
Available on Everpress here, all profits will go to NHS for the lovely work during this peculiar time.
The design stemmed from a bunch of previous designs he had created exploring the font ‘Degular’, of which there was a pretty regimented design process for. Starting by utilising interests around his life as a thematic basis, from visited locations to political figures, then picking from a pre-prepared, distinct yet limited palette of 4 colours. This then paired with layers of textures to give a realistic feel to the designs and were the fundamentals of this process.
