Introducing Lock: A Versatile Typeface Family Blending Tradition and Modernity

After over two years of development, CoType Foundry is excited to present Lock, a comprehensive type family created by Mark Bloom and Diana Ovezea. The family consists of four distinct subfamilies — Serif, Serif Stencil, Sans, and Sans Stencil — each available in six weights and offering alternate glyphs, arrows, and other features.

Inspired by the fluidity of calligraphic strokes, the letterforms have been meticulously designed to achieve a flexible and contemporary humanist style. The Serif variant is bold and expressive, while the Sans is more minimal and subdued, with each style paired with a playful stencil counterpart for a complete and cohesive set.

CoType is a London-based type foundry led by Mark Bloom and his team. They specialize in creating modern typefaces suitable for both digital and print use. Alongside their retail fonts, they provide custom typeface design services and offer modifications of their existing font collection.
