When Charleston-based chef Michael Toscano set out to open Blanca Estrada, he wasn’t just creating another restaurant — he was building a tribute to the women who shaped his culinary path. Known for his Italian-inspired restaurants such as Le Farfalle, Da Toscano Porchetta Shop, and Da Toscano in New York, Toscano’s latest venture shifts the spotlight from his paternal heritage to the powerful influence of his mother and grandmother.
Named after his mother, Blanca, and his grandmother’s maiden name, Estrada, Blanca Estrada is deeply personal. Toscano’s Mexican roots — specifically his mother’s home cooking — were among his earliest and most formative food memories. This emotional and cultural depth became the foundation for the visual identity crafted by Andreucci Design Studio.

For the team at Andreucci Design Studio, this was more than a branding assignment. It was a chance to tell a story — one of heritage, family, and passion. Known for their strategic and emotional approach to design, the studio infused the project with warmth and vibrancy, creating a brand that feels both intimate and alive.

The challenge was to create an identity that honored tradition while feeling fresh and approachable. Every design element, from the logo to the color palette and brand touchpoints, was shaped to reflect a sense of welcome, authenticity, and cultural pride.
